A Water Pipe Adapter (WPA) is a device used to connect a vaporizer to a water pipe, which is typically used with dry herbs or concentrates. The WPA serves as an interface between the vaporizer and the water pipe, allowing the vapour  to pass through the water to be filtered and cooled before inhalation.

The addition of water filtration to the vaporization process is thought to provide a smoother and cooler hit, as well as improved filtration of harmful substances. WPAs come in various sizes and designs, and are compatible with specific vaporizers, so it is important to make sure you have the correct adapter for your specific vaporizer before using.
